How/where to add new liveries

  • I’m very interested in adding new liveries to Aerofly FS4. For me, liveries are an important part of the game. Thankfully, there are already some great files from the community. A big thank you to everyone who contributes!

Unfortunately, despite extensive searching, I haven’t been able to integrate the extracted files into FS4. As far as I understand, I’m supposed to place the files under Documents/Aerofly FS 4/aircraft. However, in my case, there are no files there—no aircraft at all. I’ve heard that in such cases, the specific aircraft needs to be "created" first. I tried that, but still no corresponding aircraft shows up.

But the files must be located somewhere on the PC, right? I would be very grateful if someone could help me out. Thank you so much!

    All the best,
    Michael

  • First, if it does not exist in documents, you need to create a folder. For example, b777, then you need to unzip the folder you downloaded and then copy the subfolder to, documents/arcrafts/b777

  • Thank you very much – that was very helpful.

What’s crucial is setting up the respective folder under the aircraft type. So, for example: aircraft/a320/azul_Disney

Just one more question: Is it correct that no preview image of the aircraft appears in the selection menu? preview.ttx and preview_small.ttx are included in the subfolder azul_Disney.

Edit: I found out that the preview file is only 1 KB in size in the cases where nothing is displayed. Obviously, there are no images behind it. In other cases, this file is larger, and a preview is shown.

Anyway, thanks again for the support—I really appreciate it!

From what I could gather, something must be broken with the SDK? That's why a preview is not generated yet.
