I noticed that my Global Scenery in settings has Enabled (Status=31) next to it. What does that mean please if anyone knows.

Will we ever see residential buildings that more closely resemble real life ones?
I know that it will be region specific, but in my country most houses are single story ones having a red/green/grey or blue concrete tiled roof. In this otherwise great sim, seeing my city plastered with those 3 story lego brick auto-gen buildings is a bit of a turn off. With MSFS there is an add on that lets the user change from bing to google images. Google images are probably a bit more (but not much) accurate for some areas like my home.

I was Sim flying around Aspen in my C172 and happened to look at my altitude readings. The numbers said I was at 8400 feet and 400 feet above the ground! It hit me that those readings are things that real life pilots would have to check a lot more than what I do in the sim. I love the scenery
, but realise who easy it would be to get so immersed in it that I make a fatal error.
Any real life mountain pilots here? If so what instruments do you use the most?

I do not know about the Ursa minor stick. I have read a couple of mixed reviews, but I would definitely get one of those Meridian GMT X-Ray controllers if I were using an X-Box. They look absolutely great!

I am not sure if the original poster was talking about the weather or the water but it is true that both fall short of wonderful.

I think that is a tad harsh Douglas. A newcomer to any sim likely has more questions than most of us and maybe they miss some features that were in their previous sim. Also you can tweak the other Sim (and most other Sims) to be almost perfect but it can be expensive to do so. The Sim that you play the most is a very subjective thing.

Well with the up and down stock market our dollar has fluctuated in the last week but it cost me $28.99 AUD.

I bought the bundle yesterday. The deciding factor was the release of the A350 that is also included in the bundle. Seems like it was a good reason to do so. Maybe others might like to do the same if they have not done so already.

I am not IPACS but I have tried to play with my dual graphics cards laptop. It has a 2gb integrated card and a 3gb NVidia card and I cannot get it to work with FS4.
So with your Nimo I would say probably not. The whole thing hinges on the graphics card. You really must have a decent 4gb card to play the game.

A worthy inclusion for us all. It would be good for revision purposes as well as teaching basics to new comers.

My grand kids use their switch all the time for their games, and I think for most of them that you have to enable the on screen keyboard via your device settings. You should maybe just hit the L key then to switch them on or off.

Thanks for the hard work on the update. The 319 sounds awesome and looks very good too.

Well the A320 has a 2 Wipers for each side. Their original intent would be to clear rain but I guess they could also clear a heap of bird poo. And in some cockpit videos you can actually bird poo on the windshield but I imagine you aren’t talking about a little spot of poo.
Well we get Pelicans flying around our city and I would imagine that any hit from one of them could be a bit visually dangerous for an Aircraft.

Probably a bit off topic but what do they do when a heap of bird poo lands on the windows? Do they ground the plane until a ground person gets up there on a ladder to clean it off or do they have a wiper/washer system?

Hi All, I am enjoying the sim, have no complaints, and appreciate the hard work that has gone into it all. I have downloaded a fair bit of user created scenery over the years, and level 14 seems to be really good for displaying ground textures from about 2000 feet. I was wondering:-
a. What level of scenery textures should we get from using global scenery.
b. How do I tell if it is working or not.
Sorry if this seems a bit bit of a dumb question, but thanks for any responses in advance.

Thank you for your heads up Michael. I have tried this without success as some of those files in my AFS2 instal do not exist. My purchased copy is v1.0, so where is the vendor update to v 1.1 please? Does trisoftsim have a website or any update procedure. I am loathe to buy it again to find it is the same as my original purchase.

Thank you emfrat. All under control now.

As I get older I get less confident but .... Somehow my joystick settings for FS4 differ from those I have in FS2. I would like to fiddle with the FS4 settings to make them similar but first want to save the FS4 settings I have just in case it goes wrong. Is there a file that can be copied and backed up prior to my changing anything?
I am really enjoying a lot of the new features of FS4.
