Trouble getting RC 10, Mac book pro and TX16S working.

  • New to flight sims so help me if you can. I have a TX16S running 10.5 EdgeTX. I have a Mac Book Pro running Sequoia 15.1.1. I am using a USB-C cable from Pro to top USB-C connector of TX16S. In the Contollers tab I see nothing, as in this:

    Instead of this:

I'm lost as to why my TX isn't showing as an active controller. Do I need to connect more then the USB cable?

  • For me it only works with a USB-C to USB-A cable, that's why I wrote you that I'm using that 😅 (check your direct messages here in the forum)
(i have a multifunctional Hub on one USB-C port of my Macbook Air M1, which provides me USB-A slots)
Also, make sure to turn your Transmitter on before connecting, and confirm to use HID Joystick mode on the Transmitter after connecting the USB cable.

  • Hello,

the pictures look like a version that has not yet been updated, but that is unlikely to be the reason.
If USB adapters are used, please also try a different USB adapter and initially also no active USB hubs.

In general: USB devices are not read directly by the aerofly, but first by the operating system. Therefore, the first step is to ensure that the input device is fully compatible with the operating system. Some transmitters do indeed output a USB signal via the programming cable, but the protocol must first be compatible with the operating system. In some cases, only the two sticks are output, often without trimmers and only rarely with additional switches or sliders. Please always check with the manufacturer support of the RC transmitter whether the firmware installed in the transmitter is compatible with your operating system.

Due to the different R/C radios outputs, often in combination with the firmware,
we recommend option #4 or #5 from this page for RC transmitters such as the TX16.

With this solution, 8 channels or more can be used in aerofly. As usually only one channel for each function is required the basic function and also numerous special functions are covered here.

For an individual support please always write directly to support@ikarus.net and please add the tm.log from the aerofly user directory.

  • I'm using RC10 on a macbook 13 m1, with RM Boxer and RM Pocket. USB-C to USB-A via dongle works, but also USB-C to USB-C.
Easier though in my experience , is using bluetooth.

    Here's how:

    1. Switch on your Mac's bluetooth
    2. Switch on your RadioMaster (TX16/Boxer/Pocket)
    3. Press Sys button on the radio
    4. Select the [ ExpressLRS ] menu option
    5. Scroll down to [ BLE Joystick ] option - you should see something like " Joystick running" on. the radio's display
    6. On your mac, go to the Bluetooth options (usually just click the bluetooth icon top left)
    7. Select your radio's bluetooth entry in the list of bluetooth devices shown on your mac
    8. Open RC10, go to controllers, and set it up as a **joystick*** ( this is important!!! )
    9. Start playing.
    9. Next time do steps 1,2,3,4,5 then 9. No need to open the mac's bluetooth options after setting the binding up the first time.
