Aerofly FS4 IGC Recorder

Aerofly FS4 IGC Recorder is a Python application that captures flight data from the Aerofly FS4 flight simulator and records it in the IGC (International Gliding Commission) file format. This allows pilots to analyze their simulated flights with standard IGC-compatible flight analysis tools. Features:

• Captures live flight data from Aerofly FS4 via UDP
• Records flight data in standard IGC format
• Provides GUI interface

When the project is finished I will try to bundle an .EXE file with PyInstaller, now you need Python and the required libraries to try it.

Good idea to record the flight in CSV and add a replay feature to the map app!

The IGC file format is used for recording gliders flights, and can be imported on software that analyse it, here you can see the standard:

If we manage to connect AFS4 to an instrument, that can be installed in a phone, tablet or simulated in the pc, we could do something like this. Create tasks in glider’s software, import them in our connected instruments and do the task in AFS4 , and better if Armitage could add the tasks format to his missions app, so we also could import it to AFS4.

The IGC logger keeps improving, I saw that the tasks definition in the IGC protocol is vey simple, it will be easy to add to it. I will try to add them to my map application and display them there, and adequate it as a simple glider tracker.

Thank you Frank! I downloaded it a TMC file and followed the instructions, but it didn't appeared in the missions list. Anyway I think we are close to have them.

It seems that Claude is interested in our project. It converted the script in a complete modular project, and teached me how to upload it to Github. I will make it public soon. Look at the nice interface it designed for us, including four tabs:

Hi, I make public the project in the state I left it last night , link updated in the first post. Work in progress!

If we manage to connect AFS4 to an external virtual instrument like XCSoar, maybe we could pass directly to it the CUP files, and we follow the track in the virtual instrument, this would be perfect.

I hope with the few parameters we have with the UDP stream we could do this, but when we receive the DLL we will be able to do more .
