Estimated Flight Time

  • Hey all,

Is there anywhere to see an estimated flight time when setting a route in the main menu?

Sometimes I may only have a short amount of time to play, say an hour or so, and so I try to set a route that is an hour long. However I can’t see anything that tells me how long it will take to fly.

I found Googling real life flight times doesn't usually match the in game flight time.

The only way I’ve found is to take off and skip part of the flight. It then shows me how long is remaining, but it would be great to see this when setting the route.

    Thanks 😊

  • If you put the classic info banner up it's next to the destination, top right I think.

You should also be able to see it in the FMC I think.

    Thanks for the reply.

I must be doing something wrong because I can only see distance not flight time.

It would be really useful to find a way for it to say “estimated flight time 1 hour” etc on this screen alongside the distance.

  • Yeah sry my mistake. For some reason I was thinking it did but I was using it last night and realised the same thing you have.

No worries. Thanks for trying though 😊

It’s not a major issue, just something that would be a useful feature to have when setting up a flight. The game already knows the time as it shows this when skipping ahead, so it’s a shame it’s not shown in the menu when setting the route.

Hopefully something that can be added in a future update! ☺️

  • Start with the basic formula: flight time equals distance divided by speed. Use nautical miles for distance and knots (nautical miles per hour) for speed. For example, if the planned distance is 600 nautical miles and the aircraft is flying at 200 knots, the flight will take approximately 3 hours.

    Froher Gruss :)

Yeah it can be calculated, I agree, I just wish the game would do it for you lol.

It’s not the end of the world that it doesn’t. I just wondered if there was something I was missing somewhere in the game, as I think it would be a useful feature to have.
